My Approach

My therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that each individual's experiences and challenges are unique. As such, I adapt my methods to suit your specific situation, drawing upon a variety of evidence-based practices. At the core of my approach is a person-centred philosophy, which emphasises the importance of a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship. 

By integrating elements of psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, I aim to help you gain deeper insights, develop coping strategies, and make positive changes in your life. Throughout our work together, I remain flexible and responsive to your evolving needs, ensuring that you receive the support and guidance you require.

My First Session

Our initial meeting is designed to create a safe, comfortable space where you can share your story and the challenges that have brought you to counselling. We'll take this time to discuss your objectives and what you hope to gain from our sessions together.

If my skills and experience are a good fit for your needs and we both feel we can work well together, we can then plan for ongoing sessions. This initial session is a chance for you to ask questions, express any concerns, and get a sense of my therapeutic style.

Individual Counselling

If you find yourself struggling with personal issues, feeling stuck, or longing for change, individual counselling can help. In our sessions, we'll work collaboratively to explore the root causes of your concerns, whether they stem from past experiences, current stressors, or unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaving. Through a supportive, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship, you'll develop greater self-awareness, learn effective coping strategies, and gain the confidence to make positive changes in your life. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or seeking personal growth, individual counselling can empower you to live a more balanced, satisfying life.

Couples Counselling

Relationships can be a source of great joy and fulfilment, but they also require effort, understanding, and commitment. When couples encounter difficulties, such as frequent arguments, unresolved conflicts, or a loss of intimacy, couples counselling can provide a pathway to healing and reconnection. 

Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a highly effective, research-based approach, I help couples identify the underlying emotional needs and attachment fears that contribute to their distress. By creating a safe space for partners to express their deepest feelings and longings, EFT facilitates the development of a more secure, loving bond. 

Together, we'll work on enhancing communication, rebuilding trust, and cultivating a deeper sense of empathy and understanding. To support couples with children and demanding work schedules, I offer evening sessions until 8:15 PM.

Online Counselling

In today's fast-paced, digitally connected world, online counselling has emerged as a popular and effective way to access mental health support. By conducting sessions via Zoom, we can maintain the personal connection and depth of face-to-face interactions while offering greater flexibility and accessibility. Online counselling eliminates geographical barriers, making it possible for you to receive support from anywhere in the world with a stable internet connection. It also offers greater privacy and comfort, as you can engage in sessions from a space that feels safe and familiar. Whether you have a busy schedule or simply prefer the convenience of online communication, this option ensures that you can access the support you need.
